Restoring a Building to Greatness
The Jackson Group, Inc. is proud to call the former Harper Motor Company Building home after two years of renovations. The Harper Family built the two story brick structure in 1928 as a Ford Automotive dealership, which continued at this site until 1970 before it became Armstrong Ford.
Zagaroli Construction Company completed the renovation for the Jackson Investment Group, LLC, keeping many of the beautiful features of the 1920's building, such as the original pressed tin ceiling and the terrazzo floor in the lobby.
One story has been told that the beautiful arched window on the front of the building, flanked by two small port-hole windows, was built to resemble the front of an old Ford car.The building currently holds all primary functions of The Jackson Group, as well as Jackson Group Interactive (our multimedia full-production firm). The company also has a separate facility across the street to house its ever-growing telephone calling center.
The "Ford - Harper Motor Company" neon sign, which had hung in disarray on the front of the building for years, was taken down and refurbished returning it to its original appearance. It currently hangs in the center of our Information Services work area as a reminder of the rich history of the building.
Walking distance from the Square of Downtown Hickory, the offices of The Jackson Group are convenient to Interstate 40 and Highway 321. With the exception of our branch office in Alabama, all consultants, project managers, and Information Services staff are located in this building.The owners and staff of The Jackson Group are proud to be a part of the renewal of this grand old member of the downtown HIckory business community.
