
TJG's Connie Poteat will be speaking at the February 26th meeting of the Catawba Valley Society for Human Resource Management. Connie will present a session titled "Employee Engagement: What Works!" The session focuses on how to use key drivers of employee engagement to make strategic decisions and create the engaged work force in an organization.
Connie Poteat, MA is a Senior Client Consultant of The Jackson Group, Inc., a national survey services and consulting firm specializing in the healthcare industry. Ms. Poteat has a Bachelor of Science from Wake Forest University and a Masters of Arts from Central Michigan
University. Entering the healthcare field as a medical technologist, she transitioned into education and marketing in a mid-sized North Carolina hospital and gained valuable experience directing these departments for five years. Her experience includes fifteen years as a Senior Human Resources Officer in two North Carolina hospitals. Ms. Poteat has successfully designed and implemented reward and recognition systems, recruitment and retention programs, benefit communication projects, and management development training programs. Her background in benefits, management coaching, pre-hiring employee assessments, team building, and employee relations, are highlighted by achievements in maintaining high retention rates in a number of key nursing and allied health departments. She is also currently a regular contributor to the “Catalyst Connection” podcast series, named a “New and Notable” podcast by Apple iTunes in
August 2006.
