Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, North Carolina has been named a recipient of The Jackson Group's prestigious Laureate Award for Workplace Enhancement. The award was presented to the hospital's leadership on Obtober 23, 2008 in recognition of extraordinary and notable gains, verified by work climate survey outcomes that exemplified signifigant improvement in accordance with The Jackson Group’s criteria.
 
The Jackson Group, along with the hospital's leadership team and input from its associates, developed an action plan, surveyed on multiple occasions, and demonstrated significant improvement on ALL measured matrix indicators when comparing their 2006 to their 2008 data.

The awarding of the Laureate Award to Southeastern Regional Medical Center is notable for its rarity among organizations surveying their employees. In over three years of the availability of the Laureate Award, only nine other healthcare organizations (located in seven states), of the over 248 organizations surveyed (in 18 states) over that period of time by The Jackson Group, have qualified for either the "Laureate Award for Workplace Enhancement" or the "Laureate Award for Workplace Excellence".
